Paradise for walkers, with stunning views of the lakes and mountains and a smattering of great country pubs. If you're considering a visit try The Drunken Duck, just outside Ambleside off Lake Windermere. The 300 year old inn is off the beaten track and serves terrific food, has its own microbrewery on site and rooms with sweeping views of the beautiful Cumbrian countryside |
