well made: Selig lounge chairs

Selig Manufacturing Company Inc were the US business credited for bringing some of the best Danish modern furniture to the States in the fifties and making it widely available. Selig operated out of Leominster, Massachusetts from around 1950 to 1965 and the company concentrated on importing well made chair frames from Denmark and then having them upholstered with their own quality fabrics. Today Selig are possibly best known for their association with Poul Jensen and his iconic Z Chair (shown above), however they also imported styles from other Danish designers, most notably Ib Kofod Larsen.
