Mill House was the home of Eric Lyons, the architect behind Span Housing. Lyons partially converted the Victorian property in the fifties by adding a single storey extension to suit his work and family life. The newer part of the house was designed with open plan rooms with a high ratio of glass to brick which provided panoramic views of the gardens, a principle that typified Span developments   All photos via Tim Crocker |
